Our dearest jenna went over to Aussieland today. Like what Meixuan says, it will be weird not sending out mass texts to 9 recipients, which we all have been doing so for 7 years. We'll have 8 recipients to send texts to from now on, for awhile.

Happy 2012! :)

Totally failed, was supposed to post a "looking back at 2011..." entry but I guess my time management isn't too good! With all the work that I'm supposed to do, I can only postpone and submit that entry at a later date.

But anyway, am taking a break from work! Came across a really meaningful quote and decided to share it.

December love.

2012 is just ahead of us, it is time for me to do the final post of the year soon, again. Have been doing a collage at the end of each year since 3 years ago I think? But I haven't got to this year's yet, reason - no time :( As lazy as it sounds, I really haven't been able to find 2-3 hours to sit down in front of the comp, filter through one whole year's worth of pictures and create the collage. But soon soon, I'll get it done and posted before we greet 2011 goodbye! :)

OTC is over! And I really enjoyed the camp a lot. Although this time I'm no longer out there rahrah-ing with fellow GLs most of the time, but still, I have had my own share of fun and laughter with the subcomms and maincomms. I survived the 4-days camp with just 5 hours of sleep in total! Yes, in total, and not 5 hours per day. *beams* Okay, maybe it's nothing to be proud of hahaha. But the hours that I stay awake = precious time spent with fellow friends. Anyway, it is my last OTC! Mixed feelings. As each remaining SU event draws closer, it simply reminds me that we're inching towards Graduation. I feel pretty $%&#@! sometimes when I think about life after TP. $%&#@! because I have no exact word to fit in that sentence. All the memories, friends, experiences, lessons etc are things that are extremely precious! It feels different to walk in school now, especially at the Triangular Garden towards SDC. It feels like it's a walk down memory lane kinda thing! Especially since that route leads to the Students' Lounge for me, which I'm proud to say - my second home.

And ooooh speaking of which, I brought mummy to Lounge on Saturday! The feeling was strangely heart-warming. To bring my mum to somewhere that I'm so proud of; somewhere that I've spent almost 2 years of my TP life at, somewhere that I've slogged my guts out together with 12 other friends who eventually become my family in school, somewhere so close to heart. I was so excited! Wanted to literally introduce every single thing we had in lounge, wanted to let her see the meeting room where each of us sits according to position, wanted to show her our mini pantry, our workspace, our storeroom, our counter, the SU Plaque mounted at the entrance of lounge, the facilities and games etc, everythinggggg. If I was to exaggerate further, I would say that I could feel myself literally glowing when I was showing my mum around. Allow me to go into self-praise mode for once, *screams* but I really felt damn proud of myself that day. Not sure if anyone can understand this feeling but I'm pretty sure the maincomms do :)

Would like to urge all to really enjoy everyyyyy single moment you have in TP. In fact - not only enjoy, but to cherish as well :) Live your TP life to the fullest!

17 December was awesome! OTC Subcomm Workshop :) Spent 14 hours in school but really felt that everything was worth it, all the running around, preparation etc. Carried out by the 7 people you see above, heh heh. At the end of the day, we were all reeeeaaally tired, but I know we enjoyed ourselves a lot, just like the subcomm members. Tired's an understatement!

When I started being in SU as a subcomm in year 1 and so on, I never really imagined myself being part of otc/fo's sub-committee department (foodmin, log, prog), never. When I think about it sometimes, I really amaze myself by things that I thought I'd never do/carry out/become/think of etc. Being in Logistics really opened my eyes to a different side of the camp scene. We always think that logistics = saikang warrior. But seriously, there's so much more than what meets the eye. Being with the loggers and doing all these log preparations for these recent months, I have come to a conclusion that the subcomm departments are like the base of a pyramid. I have learnt so much from the experienced loggers, and learnt so much from the process of preparations! I am really awed by the level of dedication and commitment they have towards Logistics. The kind of experience and knowledge that they have about Log; are things that I feel are really valuable and fantastic! Am so glad that the loggers are such a fun bunch of people to be with! Will never ever be able to experience all this and gain all these insights if I didn't step into the department. I'd never realize how tough their jobs are and how much it actually takes for one to be a logger! The sense of accomplishment at the end of the day is really (Y). I have never done so much preparation and got soooo busy before the start of a camp before. As a GL and then an FA, all I did was like just "wait" for the camp to arrive and then all the action will take place during the three days.

This year, something else besides logistics department made the camp even more exciting and awesome for me - FLP (FoodLogProg)! The 7 of us are totally enjoying this FLP feeeel! :) I think it's really cool that the FLP heads are close. Am glad I have them around!

Haven't had so much fun and yet felt so tired in a long while already! :)

Am so ready to hibernate and repay some sleep debts, making 'full' use of the Sunday morning.

It's December, the last month of the year - 2012 is just around the corner.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel that December is a month that kinda brings you on some emotional ride, up and down. Besides the festive occasion, the celebration, the count-down, the gatherings, the joy of giving and receiving etc, there's also the point of time when you take some time out, alone, and think about the past 11 months, reflect and ponder upon all the happenings and events. I like to think about things (a good and bad trait), and I definitely like to think about what the future has in hold for me, what is going on currently, as well as what has gone by.

I think December is a month of realization. As we look back, we see the changes we've been through, the changes we see in people and situations, the decisions we made and the outcomes that they lead to. It's a month where we, like farmers, reap what we sow. While some of us look forward to the beginning of a new year, I reckon there are others who wish that they could go back to months ago and relive some moments. For me, I kinda belong to the middle portion in a sense cos I am looking forward to a new year, but however, I would want to travel back in time too (not that it's possible, but just sayinggg). It's been a wonderful year nonetheless and again, I have grown as an individual; a little more than the last perhaps. Looking ahead, I see big events; d&d, fow/c, week 0 and sadly, graduation. I don't think I have dreaded graduation this much before honestly. Back then thinking about AHS times, I was very much looking forward to poly life and all. This goes to show how much TP has played a part in my life, or more specifically - TPSU. It has changed my student life drastically, I have learnt and experienced so much! ♥

I take pride in my work, I think I am close to being a perfectionist, we all only want the best for the Union, Union is practically in my mind the whole day ;) Hm. I'm the kind of person who will rather do things on your behalf if I see that you're not putting your heart and soul into it, because the work produced will only be a work that's completed half-heartedly and probably out of obligations :c Maybe I won't bother explaining how tired I am, because I'd rather divert that "frustration" into productive and positive energy. To me, one should be accountable for your actions. And actions speak louder than words. I know it's bad to keep those negative energy to myself and that I should let things be known. Sometimes, I get so exhausted but then again, at the end of the day, I know it's all going to be worth it!! :) Oh man :( Really sorry I'm like starting to rant. Some people still don't truly understand why we're putting ourselves through all these, but I know they'll never get it because they'll never experience what we're going through. :)

Yr 1, 2 & 3 (TP) Long, medium, short.

Looking back, I came to realize that my hair was really long!! :( Am missing my longgg hair now, a little. And come to think of it, three different lengths/style for my three years in TP (Y). Next year? Pixie cut? Hahaha just kidding, I don't think I'm that bold to try the pixie cut look yet.

In year 1 of TP and for the past years, I never imagined myself with short hair. I just couldn't bear to snip my hair off. Each time I went to my hairdresser every once in a few months, it was always the same instructions "just trim 1-2 inch max". It was never "I want to cut my hair till mid length", never. Till last year after I entered comm. I never dreamed of having short hair either, till last week. Told my hairdresser " I want to cut it short". And here I am. No more pony tail! Tried to tie one, but failed.

Had people asking me things like "What was in your mind!?" "What happened!!" "Why?!" "What made you do that?" when I appeared with my new length. "Very short leehhhh". Hahaha, yes I agree too. It is definitely short to me. The last time I had hair of this length, lemme think, kindergarten? According to photographs, yes - it was kindergarten. From then, I never had short hair. All the way till last year, 13 yearrrrrs. I don't know why either, but I just felt like trying out something new before I get too old to experiment new lengths, I guess?

It's been long since I updated. Terribly ashamed of how much effort I am putting in to this blog. I can scroll down a little more and even see the first few blog posts of this new AY!!! It's not that I don't think that much anymore, neither is it because I don't have the interest in writing anymore. I still love writing :) It's just that as I grow older, I come to realize that maybe your own thoughts should just be kept to yourself sometimes. I understand a blog is a space for individuals to pen down their thoughts, share their feelings, express their emotions and record down different life events. But it's just like Twitter. Sometimes we feel like tweeting something personal, yet we end up hitting the backspace or delete button, or simply closing the tab. Why? Because; we're not sure of how to respond when people question our tweet or when people ask you about it? Do we respond accordingly and share the truth? Or do we just try to brush it off and hope that our friends forget about seeing the tweet? Or maybe it's because we want to empty our hearts out so badly but yet we're not sure if it's a good idea to pour everything out via the internet. Can think of so many reasons of why people don't fully express themselves via platforms like Blogs, Twitter etc anymore. I am one of them, heh heh heh :)

I used to be an avid blogger back in secondary school days - i blog about every single little tiny weeny thing HAHA. But as I came into Poly, things kind of changed. And when I became an exco in year 2, things changed even more. I know I changed in this aspect because I became more sensitive about and towards things. I know I don't crap and joke and say retarded things and ask stupid questions and blurt out nonsensical funny stuff as much as before. I became a little more, serious (?). Do I miss the old me? Do I resent this change? Thinking about it, I'd say that this is part of growing up and experiencing (and going through) changes. It's part of discovering who I am and finding out more about myself.

Am still just ordinarily me c: I still enjoy simple pleasures in life (erhem cheap thrills), enjoy my friends and closed ones' company, love to chit chat and HTHT, love to daydream and stone, love to read and listen to music, love going crazy with girlfriends doing things that we love, love to watch drama serials/variety shows and laugh till I cry or end up being touched by the scenes till I also end up crying, love people-watching, love traveling, love writing, love photography. Am still contented with life albeit all the ups and downs :)

Only when we change and grow, we'll see a world we never know.

Uncanny Similarities.

I'm probably going to start regretting everything that I'm doing right now at this hour in about 12 hours time. I should be sleeping, but I'm not. I could have slept for 5 hours, but here I am now sacrificing my sleep. I know it's gonna be a long day tomorrow cos there's OTC meeting after SIP and I am totally trying to challenge myself by depriving myself of sleep. Have no idea why but I just feel like typing :) Strange.

Didn't go to work today cos am not well, and boss is not well too! (I secretly wish she'd send me a text to tell me to work from home tomorrow too, cos i'm reaaaally sick and tired but I dont wanna take MC) So spent the day settling some union stuff, rushed to school for an interview w some CCD people followed by *screams* D&D meeting! It's like something that I've been waiting for since a long time ago!! Happiest day of the week, i think. Sent clarebaby off after that! TAKE CARE THERE BABE ♥ ! SEE YOU WHEN YOU'RE BACK! :)

Have you ever asked yourself why you're doing whatever you're doing now? And how often is the answer, "Because I'm expected to" ? So what would you do if you wake up tomorrow morning and are entitled to do anything that you want? So why aren't we doing what we want to do or would love to do? Man. I must stop having these kind of whatever-you-categorise-them-under thoughts.

But anyway, a shout-out to Crystal and Nianqi; thanks for being so understanding and caring. It really is heartwarming to know that people do feel,understand and know how you're feeling and how much you've put in :) And Dom! And Grace! And Fionn! And HeeHeeHee (LIM YI JIE)! And a few more people out there! ^^ There was a short period of time when I actually started to doubt something which I believe in - "sincerity moves people". But thank goodness for friends! Me is blessed to have really nice friends around, it may not be a huge ass number, but am contented ^^

Should I get iPhone 4s? I think i should right. My phone is so cui already. But I really like the 3Gs :( And the news woke me up today, Straits Time iPhone app had a notification announcing SteveJobs' death, and for a few seconds I couldn't believe what I was reading! Big news. Everyone was tweeting about it, news was practically all over.

Been listening to quite a lot of songs by CNBlue recently, gosh they're kinda cuteeeee.

I yearn for a simple life. But because it's too simple, it seems unattainable. Life's like that, guess it is just not meant to be simple all the time. I feel happy with music and books, even though I may take long to complete a book because I keep switching from book to book. (Bad idea to get 4-5 books within a short period of time) We're all fighting tough battles, different stories behind every pair of eyes. Everyone goes through their own share of tough times, live and let live.

It's funny how I'm having so many strange thoughts these days, been thinking a lot.

Recently, time seems to be passing doubly fast. From time to time, the fact that I'm in my final year and almost in my final term hits me and I'll just stone for a while. Then I think about my school life in TP, it's been an amazing one; no wonder they always say that time flies by when you're having fun. You know there's always this moment when you enter your thinking mode? You just think about things, all kinds of things as well as people. Good or bad, happy or sad. And when people ask you what you're thinking of, you just can't seem to find the exact answer for that question. Simply cos you're thinking about almost everything you can remember at that moment. Some people like long bus rides, others perhaps prefer staring into space, people-watching, day-dreaming, blasting music, reading or even penning their thoughts down. The kind of thing that people do to trigger their thoughts, many.
I've come to better understand myself this year, I think. Or maybe this happens to everyone as they age another year.

But then, sometimes I reach a stage where I think that many are just furthering their studies because of societal expectations or norms, perhaps? behavioral treatments? I don't know. Okay and of course, we all know that education brings us a better life in the future. So how many of us are actually pursuing a field of study that we actually like? Okay, maybe we do like it now. But then again, how many of us are actually pursuing a field of study that we actually see ourselves in that particular industry 20 years down the road? I'm in the school of Humanities and Social Sciences. I am not sure if I can see myself doing social research and stuff like that for years. Was talking to a close friend and she mentioned that when we're young, we tend to want to do things that we like and we feel that as long as we like what we're doing, it's good. But then there will be a point of time when you will scrape that thought and just go for something that brings you good money.
I have no idea where I'm heading towards actually :/ Sometimes, it's funny - when we are given different paths, we whine about being spoilt for choice. And yet when we are only directed on one path, we whine that we have no choice. Hahaha, go figure :)

I think it's the first time I'm actually blogging from Lounge :) I think.

Am super duper tired today omg; sleeping at 4 is not a good idea at all, although it gives me time to do my own things. Was rushing like mad this morning for SandraGoh's class cos I don't wanna be late for her class! She's too nice and sweet already :) Went to the library (zzzz) for project, stuck there for almost 3 hours and finally - home sweet home (of course, i'm referring to lounge).

ON A LIGHTER NOTE, I talked to Izzad on MSN for a pretty long time today! Just 37 more days till he's back! :)

'Busy bee' was what Kaho called me when we were texting the other day, boo.

Yes I admit I've been caught up with school work, projects, union, assignments, union, meetings, submissions etc. And when you really sit down during your own personal time and think about things, you'll find that you're pretty clueless about what else is going on, especially among your friends who are not in the same campus as you. That's not the worst, I don't even have time to meet up with friends who are IN TP. Really longing for some free time to do my own things. I must be going mad because I actually kind of long for time to clean up my room! Reallyyyy going mad because I used to be convinced that Aquarius girls are happy living with their own clutter. They won't even use the word "clutter". But now I kind of want to tidy up my room! So tell me, am I going mad or what.

Anyway, updates updates (peeeektures!):

Gaen's 21st was a simple yet good one. Headed down with Fionn Jiajun & Kelbanzai. Met Evan there cos this woman went alone! Anyway, Gaen customized button badges for her guests, very cute and unique! :) Her 21st was held at The Chamber Bar @ Robertson Walk. First time there, pretty nice place to chill with friends; mediterranean style pub, outdoor seating, large TV screen, indoor pool tables.

Sent Darren off to Perth on the 4 July together with the ex-excos! Only Kai, Dillon, Evan, Bern, Fionn and I managed to make it. Anyway, spent some time with the ex-excos after that at Ya Kun (I THINK; can't rem), awesome time spent catching up :) And bernita started tweeting about missing Darren already, hahaha aww. A pity Darren chose to further his studies, if not he'd still be our advisor. He's a really nice guy! Always helping us, playing along with us during our retarded moments, guiding us and giving us his most honest opinions :')

It's been super duper long since I last posted, I don't think I've MIA'ed for this long before. But I've been really busy ever since I came back from the Europe trip :(

I've decided to revive this space a little as I can't stand how dead it is. Basically the trip was great, the breathtaking views and sceneries, pretty houses, pretty people and awesome shopping. It may seem exaggerating to some, but I swear the sky is more beautiful there. Been wondering how come we're under the same sky and yet the sky there seems nicer! :s Took pictures of the sky, looked at the pictures, and looked at the sky here in SG, and it's reaaally different.

Can't wait for the submissions period to be officially over. I need to spend some time with the girlfriends, go out, chill, shop, discover new eating places/cafes, people-watch, nua at their places etc and of course, I need my personal time to do my favorite things. The list definitely includes nua'ing. It is a luxury for me to be able to do pretty much nothing for one whole day! So am looking forward to such a day :) All these to be done before I start my internship.

Today marks the end of the campaign period for this year's Students' Election. Voting starts today till Friday and a new committee will be born this Friday 27 May. Time flies, really.

I should prolly bring a camera to capture images of how the school concourses look like now. It's the final year for me anyway, guess I should have some images of the elections to remind myself how crazy messy tiring and fun it is. We have 6 re-runners this time, and I really hope we will be able to continue to lead, as well as guide the new members in the committee. It's been an awesome year with them and we've grown.

Have a list of people to thank as they really helped me unconditionally throughout this two days, and some stuff that they did for me are really touching. The most extreme example led me to being moved to tears :') But before I do that in my next post, I would like to thank Paul for helping me with the shoot and the designs. Really really thank you :) It's the second year that you've helped me with the posters and I'm super grateful for that. I think you probably won't read this but still, :)

Trying to survive 4 hours of class.

Weather these days = craaazy! 36deg celcius, seriously? I used to tweet "Tutorial room's freeeeezing, brrrr" and things like that, but I'm never ever going to complain about the cold again. Not when we have this kind of temperature! :(

Four hours of being trapped in a computer lab, facing the same tutor who speaks in a monotone manner. Followed by two hours of tutorial, facing a super hyper tutor, without any breaks in-between; sums up my Monday.

Day 3! Supposedly my "off-day" since I have a 4-day work week now :P But headed down to school early to set up the TPSU Booth for CCA Recruitment Drive! I know I've mentioned this manyyy times but I swear time flies. I remember when I was a freshie, I passed by the SU booth and it was CJ who came up to introduce SU to me. And yepppp, it was the only CCA I joined in the end :) Today, many freshmen came to the booth to find out more about the union and the feeling was greatttt!

First day of school today, Academic Year 11/12, and I'm officially a Year 3 student. I've really forgotten how lively and noisy the campus can be. When I stepped into school and saw the amount of people around the plaza, it felt good. The campus feels alive. I felt alive. Walked down the concourse and suddenly the "you're a final year student" thought hit me. Time flies, can't believe this is my final year at TP. TP has been amazing so far, and I'm really really really glad that I'm here.

PRESTON FTW ^^ He's so cuteeee, but I kinda really miss the few-months old Preston. He was seriously like a BALL at that time, SUPER ROUND AND NOTHING ELSE BUT ROUND. Cannot see his neck at all! And his limbs were like lotus roots. Heheh, super duper cute! ^^ Now he's at the stage of talking non-stop (almost) and running/hopping around whenever he can, hahaha! Oh, and not forgetting his extremely amusing sound effects!

Anyway, am here to post bout the Taiwan trip - day 1 & 2! :)

That's basically it, for our first day! Day 1 was spent in XiMenDing cos we only checked-in at around 4+/5pm! So we didn't want to waste any time traveling to other places! And XiMenDing's awesomeeee, all the shopping and food! :)

Ended day 2 by going back to XMD again, bought facial masks! ^^ It was a good day though our legs were really tired!

A short update.

All taiwan pictures are up, d&d pictures are up - on facebook! And I haven't actually got the time to blog about the trip yet! But I will! :) Prolly will make use of Friday to blog about it or something.

It's been a crazy week! FO's over and I'm really glad :) It was a learning point for everyone, I must admit that this FO is really different but in the end - we all know why and what we are here for. I've learnt a lot this camp, and experienced a lot. Had many kinds of emotions and feelings, observed many things, met new people etc. It was a good one, to me. No regrets! Really thankful to have some people around me, and of course Vetra - my first empire as an FA. Not to forget Nicolette, my FA partner :) She has taught me a lot, and I've seen and learnt many things from her. Would have been really lost without her! I want to thank many many many people, but it's impossible to express my thanks here or it'll be a super duper long and wordy post.

Anyway, it's Week 0! School's starting next week! :) Can't wait! Although this semestral break seems really short, but I must say it's really eventful. Taiwan, D&D, FO, Week 0 Regatta etc :) New baby in the house, no more Sony Vaio for me (though I'm still gonna use it for the sake of Funshion). But well, say helllo to the new MacBook Pro! :)

On the 10th of March, I met up with the girls for lunch :) A simple catch-up session before I disappeared to Taipei, and also before I get buried under FO work. Recently, I am like seizing opportunities to explore new restaurants/eateries/cafes when meeting up with friends. New not meaning that they just opened but new in the sense that I've never visited the place before ^^ The previous post on Mr Punch is an example! I've got a few more in mind, but really - no time to visit the places currently :(

ANYWAY, the four of us visited The Garden Slug.

Totally loveeeeee this place! The food is to-die-for! The Garden Slug is a little diner located in *yesssssssa!* the East (Lorong L Telok Kurau, to be exact). Totally didn't expect to find such a pleasant eating place at Telok Kurau! Would have thought of like, Siglap or East Coast when it comes to yummy food in the East. Anyway, it's a very simple, cosy and humble place, nothing too overly fancy. It's like located near the private properties, so it's a rather peaceful place, perfffffect for a meet-up with friends ^^ And one more thing that I think all Singaporeans would love - there's no GST/service charge or whatsoever! :P Ok, I know I've said it but I must say it again: THE FOOD IS TO-DIE-FOR. A hundred thousand million thumbs-up!

EXAMS ARE OVER ^^ Yay!

Met up with the OLD friends :P and we had a really awesome night out! OH, and because I had starbucks near midnight (againnnn), I can't seem to fall asleep. Which is why I'm uploading pictures and blogging about the night out at 4am.

And I must mention, the service at Mr Punch is fantastic!! We did not really state a lot of things in detail regarding the birthday surprise for Chuinch and Choy, we roughly told them it was a surprise and that's about it. The chef and waitress decorated the plate, wrote out Happy Birthday on the border of the plate using chocolate syrup, dimmed the lights at our area suddenly, and brought the cake out. Took back the whole cake, sliced the cake into 12 pieces and served us. And only Chuinch & Choy's portion of the cake had all the additional stuff like fruits and toppings. All these without us telling/instructing them! :) Super sweeeeet and thoughtful of them!

Exam's coming! Paper's on tuesday & wednesday.

Just two papers! With lots of readings to be completed and notes to go through, I have no idea how I'm going to survive this week till Wednesday but somehow, I know I will. Feels kinda weird now, but I think I'm falling sick (?) The usual going-to-fall-sick symptoms are here! Talk about timing.

But anyway, I met up with Sabrina today :) It was a goooood lunch date with her! Fish & Co followed by Starbucks! Food-lovers-R-Us ^^ Thanks so much for picking me up from home and sending me to school after that babe! Went back to school for aged-friendly design presentation. It was a little pressurizing in the beginning cos you could really see all the groups' effort and how much they actually pia. But thankfully, I think our presentation went pretty well :) Finally we can concentrate fully on our studies! Headed back to lounge for a short while and Eeping bought KOI ^^ Thanks Pingz! I'm a happy girl today - Caramel Macchiato from Starbucks and Milk Tea from KOI.

Just a short update, felt like blogging - cos I cannot take in anymore information already, so no more studying for the night.

Today (1st Jan), or to be specific - some hours ago, the excos had a mini celebration for my 19th birthday. They're really so cute, I think I told the committee many many times already - that they are really very cute. It's all thanks to this group of 12 individuals that made my experience as an exco very memorable and pleasant!

It's been a long, eventful, tiring, joyful (AND SO ON) journey and of course, it isn't easy at all. Been through so many things, lessons learnt and experience gained. All the laughing, retarded moments, awkward moments, the rubbish that we come up with, the inside jokes, all the crying, the heart-to-heart talks - going through all these have made me a slightly different person I guess. I've grown, definitely. I guess being an exco really changes quite a lot of things, our perceptions, mindset, beliefs or maybe even our character (?). I would say I handle things differently now, go through a more in-depth thinking process before coming up with a decision, thinking further ahead when it comes to situations, being calm when things are not going as planned, being sensitive towards others and so on. I got to know myself better this year, got to see the other side of me which perhaps I didn't notice before I became an exco.

I remember I was really thinking and contemplating real hard, whether to submit the nomination form and to run for TPSU or not. Some of the ex-excos asked, and I remember telling them that 70% of me says 'I should run', and the other 30% says 'No'. I forgot who it was exactly, but I think it might be Brandon who said why let the other 30% affect my decision when 70% of my heart/mind tells me to go for it already. So yup, I filled up that form and decided to run in the elections of AY10/11. It seemed like a really long time ago but it's still less than a year :)

Currently, it's the 2nd of February and it's the 257th day of being a TPSU Executive Committee Member. I have never everrrrr regretted that decision of running and taking part in the election. I feel that this year is the most eventful and fulfilling period of my life so far!

When I entered the committee, I emphasized on "Listening", till date - I will still continue to emphasize on that. Listening isn't as easy as it seems, everyone can listen, but not everyone truly listens. Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, but courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen. Agree?

All 13 of us have different personalities, and we all come from different backgrounds. And it really feels good to know that you have 12 people who will be going through this whole thing with you and that you can depend on them and they will too, depend on you. As time passes, feelings develop and soon, there is this sense of belonging and togetherness. Of course, different people may feel it at different periods of time. This special group of 12 individuals have become part of my everyday life and there isn't one day so far in which I don't think about them at all. They are like my family, or rather, they are my family and I must say that I've spent more time with them this year as compared to my own family at home.

All 13 of us have our own dreams and things we hope to achieve by the end of our office term. We are all different in terms of our working and communication styles. 13 sets of different working styles placed together to get the club running and working. It is not easy. Sometimes, I really feel for them. From my seat and point of view, I see their tired faces and yet they seem to be putting on a strong front. Some breakdown, cry it all out, others vent it out using different means, and of course, some just keep it deep down within themselves and let other things bury their tiredness and, perhaps, restlessness. It's been tough, trying to be there for as many of them as I can. I know how it feels like to be so frustrated with work and all I want is for somebody to be there to listen to me rant, or just be there physically. During heart-to-heart talks, I see them on the verge of breaking down, tearing and crying before they can even start on what they want to say. And that's when I know they are really tired and that it's been tough. Then comes the saying, "Nobody said it was going to be easy. But nobody said it was going to be this tough either." I guess this is how life is, we've got to learn to adapt. It's really saddening to see my members cry, I know tough times are inevitable, but it's just so super duper heart-aching and heart-wrenching to be in a position where you try your best to be there for them, they break-down/cry and you are left wondering if you've done your part. I love every single one of them, and I know how exhausted they are. I'm exhausted too, and sometimes all we need is a pat on the back or a hug telling you that things are going to be fine and that you're doing a great job. We all are perfectionists to different extents and we want things to turn out to be awesome, but obstacles and challenges just keep surfacing and slowly, we lose our momentum and sometimes, direction. Many a times, I find myself telling and reminding myself that I have to be strong, even if it's just for show. And eventually, I find myself getting stronger. I'm afraid of many things, worried for this, worried for that, but courage is being afraid, but going on anyhow. Office term is ending, I only hope for the 13 of us to stick together and to be happy. Guess my parents will be happy too, that the term is finally ending, for now.

Haha, my mum has been complaining about the commitment level and all, but sometimes I just do not know how to let her understand how important union is to me now and how different things have become for me. I really feel like telling her every single little tiniiiiest detail about TPSU; how we run the club, what we face, what we do, our problems, our happy moments, challenges and difficulties encountered, and many more.

But it's not easy to just let someone understand how it is like being an exco just by explaining verbally, it's just not easy. From my parents' point of view, they just see me coming home late, looking cui and exhausted (sometimes), not concentrating on school work the way they want me to, staying up late to complete school work and/or union stuff, and so on. My dad even mentioned that it seems like a waste of time that I'm sacrificing so much for union. I was kinda taken aback when he said that, and I know that there was no way I could let him see all the things that the 13 of us have gone through and how tough it has been. It's like his mindset and perception were fixed. But thankfully, although they nag a little here and there still, I know they do support me and respect my role as an exco.

Parents mention things like 'why not let the others do?', 'dont hold meetings la?', 'dont meet advisors today!', 'change day/date', 'you do so many union stuffs, got time for your school work not?' etc. It's always why why why or why not why not why not. We only have 13 people running this union, this biggggg club that people look up to. We also want to have an easy way out, we want to do things the easy way and so on. But the thing is - things don't work this way. Stepping into union has made me learnt that maybe it's never so much about ourselves, it's not about "Me" all the time. Sometimes, it's about the other people. I know that people say the world is a selfish one and we all tend to think for ourselves. Then I guess it has to start somewhere, somewhere where we'll learn that in the society today, we've got to learn to be selfless from time to time. It's not about scoring good grades and topping the class all the time, sometimes it's about learning the things that cannot possibly be taught in classrooms and in all the examination papers in the world. I only hope that my parents will allow me to continue being a little selfless and let me be part of the committee serving the student body. I know it's irresponsible as a student to say that grades are not everything, I know grades are important, but really, opportunities like being in the executive committee of a students' union don't come knocking at every aspect of your life.

There are certain things in life that come by only once, and if you miss them, you miss them for life. I certainly don't want to leave TP with regrets, and therefore I'm trying my best to juggle between my studies and union.

One year ago, I have never ever imagined and pictured my student life to be like this. I don't know how differently people define the word "perfect", I know it's subjective, but I feeeeel that my life now is close to being perfect. All I know is that I'm enjoying what I'm doing and what I'm going through :)

This is soooooooo wordy, not exactly everything is posted here but yeah, just wanted to pen down some thoughts ♥

It's been raining for the whole of today! And it's reaaaalllly cold :( I think it's the first time for me and mummy to have our jackets on for the whole day - at home. But anyway, me had a good 12 hours sleep! :) Which is why I'm probably still pretty awake now. MAS/MoneySENSE's event is tomorrow, I don't know how it's going to turn out but I'm hoping that it'll be great. I wouldn't say, honestly, that I've put in loads of effort in the beginning, but towards the end - definitely. There was this something that hit me, and I started worrying for the event. But anywayyyy, I just hope it'll be okay! It's like planning and running an event in SU, just that this time - there are only 4 members.

Anyway, met up with Debra & Bella last weekend! And it was awesomeeeeeee ^^ Very thankful that it didn't rain last weekend!

CNY's coming, I don't really have that festive moooood, yet. All thanks to submissions and projects! :( But anyway, Monday's here again! Have a good and, hopefully, sunny Monday all ^^

Falling Stars;

I haven't been updating this space cos it has been a killer month so far. Project submissions, assignments' deadlines to be met and so on! But other than that, all has been going pretty well! Trying to juggle three balls at one go; studies, union, family/friends. And I gotta say it ain't easy! But I've got awesome people standing by me ^^ so I believe everything will turn out great! AND MY TAIPEI TRIP SHALL BE MY MOTIVATION! Can't waitttttttttttt to get out of this island with the dear girl and wander around one of my favourite cities.

I don't want anything else for this AY (which is ending) except to 1) enjoy the rest of my office term with the excos10/11, 2) mug and get decent grades, 3) spend more time with my family and lovely friends, 4) have the most awesome and fabulous time in Taipei, 5) get a little bit more of "ME"-time and 6) have a good FO!

Okay I know 6 items are not exactly very little but oh welllllll :) And trust me, really - i dont want anything else interfering AY10/11 till the next one arrives. I shall think about AY11/12 when it's approaching! ^^

This, too, shall pass.

A very happy 2011 to all of you! :) In a flash, 2010 is over.

2010 has been a very very very fast-paced year, it seems to be a very short year to me. I get it, time flies right. It did, for my 2010. There were many things which I did not get to do for the year and I hope they'll happen in 2011. I've been so super duper busy! Sometimes, I get so tired I feel like just not doing anything and rot for the whole day. I'm so sorry my dear friends, I have spent very little time with you all as compared to previous years. But trust me, I did try my best. We all have many different groups of friends, and the number of groups just keeps increasing each year. I don't know if it's me but it has been disappointing when I see friends just not trying as hard as everybody else. We all have our busy schedules and we tend to succumb to our lazy/nua feel but sigh, I dont know, it's just sad? Studies are important, work's important, friends are important, our own personal and family time are important as well. Is it really so difficult to just sacrifice that few hours to meet up and spend time with your group of friends? One has to put in effort to keep the friendship going isnt it? Friendship isn't going to be maintained just by the memories we had and the moments we shared. So anyway (before I start ranting, sorry!), in this upcoming new year, I'm going to try my best to spend time with the books, work, family and friends. Hohoho! And thank you dear friends, who have stood by me in this tiring yet wonderful 2010 :)

It's been a long time since I actually took a nap. And I did, today, for half an hour before heading out to meet the group for project meeting. Too tired :(

Headed to school for project then met up with Evannnnnnn to go over to Lynn's to do our nails for Christmas ^^ Me wanted to do something green+red but decided not to cos I couldn't find a green that was Christmas'sy enough to match the red. Evan has snowflakes on her nails, they're really cute!

Today's twitter seems pretty flooded with all the tangyuen tweets :) I guess not everyone knows what this festival/occasion is, haha. I wasn't really sure too, till I went to Google it.

The Dōngzhì Festival or Winter Solstice Festival (Chinese: 冬至; pinyin: Dōngzhì; literally "the Extreme of Winter") is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians during the Dongzhi solar term (winter solstice) on or around December 22 when sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest. It will occur on between December 21 to 23.
The origins of this festival can be traced back to the yin and yang philosophy of balance and harmony in the cosmos. After this celebration, there will be days with longer daylight hours and therefore an increase in positive energy flowing in.

Just two things;

1) I didn't know it happens every December 21, 22 or 23! It's like, a fixed date. Like Christmas!

2) Sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest. Pretttty cool!

I don't know if it's a coincidence or it really works but the sun is hiding behind some clouds today. Or is it because it looks like it's going to rain. Oh well!

Time flies, I remember my December 22 last year. I was in Taiwan - Nantou (南投) to be exact! :) Stayed in this hotel called EinHan Resort. It's reallly cosy and pretty! Claimed to be the only hotel with the style of Bali Island in that area, we totally loved it there! Anyway, we had dinner at this family-run restaurant and by the time we were about to leave the restaurant, it was nearly 9pm or so. The family called us back and served us a bowl of tangyuen each! :) I think theirs were home-made because it tasted superrrrr duperrrrrr good! (Y) The tangyuens had my sister and I asking for more! The family was so cute, warm and hospitable! :) One thing I totally love about most people in Taiwan! But yeah, unknowingly, we spent our Dongzhi in Taiwan last year :) It was nice, slightly different from Singapore because not all families consume tangyuen(s). I miss Taiwan! :(

On a brighter note, I'm going Taiwan (again, for the 3rd time!) next March :)

As mentioned in the previous post, me went out with my dearest bunch of girlfriends on Friday! :) Went to Timbre @ The Arts House! Good company, food, ambience (Y) Met up with Meixuan Jem and Kaho first. Got our pictures taken by this Japanese photographer named Noriaki Tsuchiya at the bridge in front of Fullerton. It's supposed to be for some iPhone app which will be released at the end of this year. It's like a clock app or something like that, where every single minute will have a different picture of people holding up this blackboard with the time written on it. Yup, so our timings are 0758hrs and 0832hrs! Will be looking out for itttttt :) Hohoho!

We all enjoyed ourselves, it's been long since we last had this kind of meet-up session. Am really glad their A's are over ^^ Super duper proud of them! The last time I met them, they were all being so worried about studying/mugging and stuff. And now it's finally over! :) It was a pity the other 4 lovelies couldn't make it ;( Oh wellllll - christmas party! :)

It's been long since I last diligently blogged for two days consecutively. With pictures somemore!! Haha, guess this is the only activity I'd rather do when it's Blog/Photos VS Lecture Notes. But me did study today! Wrote my own notes, and they look so cheam'ology! Totally looked like they're handwritten notes of some "A"-student! Will go back to studying after I'm done with this post. Am actually kinda enjoying this revision :) Papers' on Tuesday!! Add oil to me and everyoneeeeeee!

A couple of weeks back, NPSU came over to our lounge! Josiah, Qaiser, Sean, Alphonsus, Jingwen, Aizat, Tammie and Weixuan. Cousin came over after that tooooo! ♥

It was a fun night! Wii, pool, foosball, darts, air hockey plus camwhoring! Funniest part of the night was when the guys kept bullying/tricking weixuan! They made her believe that she had to bend while playing Wii etc. They also made her go all the way right in front of the tv screen in order to "play properly and win"! Hahaha, damn bad luh, but we all had a good laugh! :P

Term tests coming right up! I've one paper this time, hohoho. All the best to everyoneeeeee! :) Study smart!

Been a long time since I updated this space properly. Last post was for Clare's birthday! Headed out to celebrate Clare's 18th on Sunday, 10/10/10! :)

It was such a nice dateeeee, and I'm super happy to meet the girls after so long. Miss them like mad! It's been awhile since we last went out and yay! Thanks to Clare "booking" us from a long time ago for 10/10/10, we met up! :) And Clare slimmed down!! She didn't believe us at first till she saw the pictures, haha.

Brewerkz @ Indoor Stadium, Kallang. Food was good, service was great, company was awesome! :) Did not really take (super) a lot of pictures, so yupppp. Hopefully we'll get to meet up again soon! Clare's birthday was the only one that we managed to celebrate this year due to our busy schedules! But oh well, at least we did enjoy ourselves :)

I miss them so much! Parting with them was so difficult yesterday :'( But Jane and I controlled ourselves, cos we're going to meet again soon! :) I have many wonderful pictures to upload! Sid has many even more wonderful ones! Hopefully i'll get to upload them asap.

Today was a strange day, so quiet!! Having 11 of them around for the whole day for four consecutive days at Pulai Springs made me so used to hearing their voices and all. Although Sid was the quietest :P But still! Haha, can't wait to see them again! :) Blog again in details, soon!

Have been spending my week with the polyforum people! Pre-forum activities! Not that bad. First day we headed to CBD area, walked from Chinatown all the way to SG Flyer! :) And in the end, we all went up for a free ride on the flyer! It was a good end for the first day, haha. Met many people from the other polytechnics, really awesome people! Second day was to places I thought i'd never visit! Places like JURONG ISLAND! HAHA. Third day was to R&D Hubs like Fusionopolis and Biopolis. The buildings are really really really cool. Fourth and fifth day - spent doing research work and discussion @ NP with the group. Haha I must admit I ended up multitasking :P Like, researching via Google, and Facebook, Twitter, Skype, MSN are all open/on the other tabs etc. Opps.

Okay, wordy paragraph but it sums up my week! :) Had monthly meeting just now, MY DEAR PIPITA IS BACK ♥ am so happy she's back. I just stared at her for awhile, it was so unreal. I had been communicating with her this 3 months via Gmail and suddenly she's just in front of me. But anyway, it's good to have her back. Really miss her like mad!!

I took super duper long to pack for a 4days JB trip, I have no idea why! :( And it seems like I brought a lot of things just by looking at the luggage, but seriously, I did not! This is bad, it's 3am and I'm still awake. Am meeting Jane around 7am omg ;( She is still awake too! Think we're going to K.O. immediately when we board the bus. I'm really glad there's this trip, I want to get out of here. But anyway, time to log off and seriously try to get some sleep!

Am back for an update! :) Haven't been blogging for a pretty long while. School break is great so far! :) meet-ups with people, having fun, camwhoring (HAHA), HTHT'ing, watching korean dramas!

Headed to ECP some day last week! With Fionn and Ivy. We were kinda worried that it'll rain cos the 狗皇帝 called us and said it was raining like mad over at TP. And he said that the rain clouds will move over to ECP!!!! >:/ I invited him along with us since he had no concrete plans for that day after his paper but he declined cos he "did not want to be caught in the rain at ECP"! Tsk. But hahaha, no rain at all :D

Yup, we took 600 odd pictures. It's absurd, yes i know. I had no idea how we accomplished that either!!

Anyway, met up with Sab a few days ago!

Back to school today for PolyForum briefing with Fionn and Jane! :) It was alright, pre-forum activity starts next week! And then off we go to JB! :) Can't wait to get out of here, although it's just our neighbouring country, but still!!

Not sure if it's obvious, but I went for a haircut again. HAHA, mad! Obsessed with haircuts? I think the difference can be seen from the pictures taken at ECP and the recent ones with Sab. Looks like it'll take me a super duper long time before I get longgggggggggg hair again! :S I kinda miss my long hair now.

Didn't feel like updating this space for the past week, urgh.

Can't really remember what I did either, omg. But anyway, my one and only paper's over! On Monday actually. It was still o-k-a-y, i think. Then headed out with the awesome people (pictures soon), celebrated Twinny's birthday (belated) and caught a movieeee! Vampires Suck. Super lame, but the Jacob Black in this show is like ♥ !! Me and twinny were like close to squealing out loud. "Am going to Google him!" Hahaha, and okay his name is Chris Riggi.

Spent the next day with my sister in town, then went back to her place to play with Preston! He's so cuteeee! He's learning to say a lot of things now so it's pretty entertaining and sometimes it gets so hilarious we just end up laughing real hard. It's my BIL's birthday today, happpppy birthday, we're waiting for a baby girl! Haha.

This is bad, it's 4:20am currently and I am wide awake. What's happeningggg! :(

A birthday surprise meant for our dearest september babies! :) Dilly, Grace, Asmine, Vunvoong and Ivy! But a pity grace and asmine couldn't join us :(

Had lots of fun with them! Erdinger, heineken, apple martini, lychee martini, to-die-for pizzas and sides :) Ivy said out loud that she wasn't 18, ended up with us "SSSHHHH!!!"ing her! Hahaha. The guys had fun too, trying to get Justin drunk but no luh he didnt! Laughed like there was no tomorrow, felt super duper at home with them. Totally love them all to bits! 10 years down the road, I hope we're all still in contact with one another :') There's this really special feeling I'd get when I'm with them.

Absolutely gorgeous :) the sun. It was a super random decision, looked out of the window and saw that the colour of the sky was so pretty! So decided to go up. Haven't done this for a long long time! Why oh whyyyy am I not staying in the unit on the 20th floor.

Sister's not coming back this weekend, should I travel to AMK to see Preston! He's so cuteeeee. He speaks very random words nowadays, and it's really funny when he blurts them out all together like they make sense. And he's a Channel 5 baby! Speak chinese to him and he just 1) stares at you 2) ignores you 3) continues babbling all the random words or 4) alittle of all of the above listed. It's going to be a busy weekend! National Day Rally this Sunday, first time! Mixed feelings about it. I've been living for a good 18 years and I've always avoided watching TV on the night they air it, opps. But who knows, maybe I'll enjoy it! :) Optimism, optimism, optimism, hohoho.

The past week has been spent pretty much in city/town/home. A much better improvement from just staying at home (sleeeeeeeeping) ! Mummy suspects I'm on drugs cos I appear to be toooo sleepy, totally just stared at her when she said that cos it was just so unexpected. Drugs? shakes head.

Was unwell for around two days last week, mum guessed that it was gastritis cos of the periodic upper central abdominal pain that I had for two whole days plus the loss of appetite. But then again, it's just her guess. Jane was super cute, counting down the seconds for me when the pain came cos it only lasted around 3-4 seconds each time. It was kinda still bearable, just that i really disliked it cos it was periodic and went away only after two days.

But anywayyyyy, we still had a great day in town that day! We finally met up :) The outing was planned to be held in June, but we were too busy! ♥ x100!

Awesome day with them, reached home at like 11+? All of us decided to go on a diet cos of the amount of food we consumed that day. Horrrrrrible! Can't wait to meet them again :) Time for Round 2 of HTHT and all!

Met Jane on Friday, both of us were in school. She then came over to my place till like 11pm! HTHT, photobooth, bulb photography, drama, dessert! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR GIRL ♥

Thanks to Angela/Cheryl for organizing the surprise for her. Me is so proud of myself, I reached her place on time :) Anyway, met Sa and Ying before we went up to her place. Kaho was away at a pedicure session while we were kinda getting ready at her place.

We got kinda bored while waiting.

It was so funny, when she was reaching home, we all decided to hide in her room. It was a surprise, Kaho wasn't supposed to know that we were there. Then halfway, Jenna mentioned a good point - our bags were in the living room. And we went shitttttttttttttttt. So much for hiding, surprise and all. Hahaha, but oh well :) She still did get a surprise, or at least that was the emotion/look portrayed on her face when we appeared in front of her :D

She does look surprised, right? Haha, and she thought we forgot all about her birthday! :)

Time flies, we were there at her place one year ago as well. I FEEL SO OLD OMG! :(

I still remember we all had this awkward moment thing with her cubby. He was the only guy there last year!! Hahaha. And Meixuan came up with this 'superb' plan of us taking turns to talk to him. So it was like, we were supposed to talk to her cubby (nicholas) for 10 minutes, then we'll move on and the next person in line will go talk to him for another 10 minutes. This was supposed to be done so that he wouldn't feel left out. But hahaha, the plan failed. We just decided to place Bella there to do the job permanently :P Do not ask why he's called Cubby. I still do not understand even after getting a few explanations from Kaho.

We were all feeling extremely lazy and nua'ish. We left around 4, Jen's parents picked us up and gave us a lift back :) Awesomeeeee. Ying and I dropped at bedok, me went to look for the wireless control for my camera! and i bought it :D am extremely happy with this purchase! No more self-timer needed! Heh.

Had a fairly good Saturday morning in dreamland, exited that world only at around 1pm. Was staring at the ceiling trying to recall my dream for awhile, was pretty close to recalling it and mummy just had to enter the room reporting the time, ha ha. Forgot about the dream. Spent the evening out with the family, hours later we found ourselves at the car wash cos the car received blessings from some birds. Reached home, fireworks could be seen from the balcony, mummy was near to squealing cos of that, while I was just in the room, too lazy to even move myself from the bed to the window. A magazine, music plugged in, cushions around me on bed and orange juice - long time since I last had this kind of little enjoyment heh. No burdens (coughs), no disturbances, no distractions (besides my mum and her excitement due to fireworks). I am sleeping too much recently, am only active for like 13 hours per day. And that spells 11 hours of sleep, sleep deprivation? I like.

I think I like doing nothing in particular nowadays.

Back from camp (II) ! :)

Lots of fun! I think the excos can start a joke book. During these two days, so many funny incidents occurred (vunvoong contributing half of them, of course) and I laughed till my stomach ached, accompanied with jelly legs. And my most adorable comm members said I was like, drunk just now. Tried explaining that I was just super happy that the camp had come to an end and that they were all so cute I couldn't stop smiling but they did not buy it >:/

Anywayyyyy. We celebrated jingkai's birthday!

Presented to him a pandan cake with a candle! Haha, JK took the pandan cake as his real birthday cake. But we love him too much to just give him a pandan cake for his birthday so we removed the candle and,

placed it on his real birthday cake before bringing it into the room :D His expression was PRICELESS when some of the members appeared with another cake! PRICELESSSSS. While he was about to make his (second) wish, they tried to scare him by asking some of us to prepare and have the third cake on standby. Hahaha, but nope, that was it. Just two cakes :)

Day 2; we were all a little reluctant to wake up. Thank goodness Vunvoong's alarm did not go off or we'll kill him. His alarm tone is seriously the most irritating one I've ever come across ;( Bad experience, we all got woken up by it during LTC. We heard it, but we're too lazy to actually get our hands on his phone and turn off the alarm. So it goes into snooze, and after 9 minutes, it starts again. Eventually all of us got woken up by his alarm, except vunvoong himself! >:/ So this time, we became smarter heh, warned him before we slept. No annoying alarm tone or he'll be dead.

2pm, CAMP ENDED! Packed, left the sports complex and headed to lounge. Started to rain reaaally heavily and it was the most perfect weather to sleep. Had lunch with the excos then we just slept in lounge! :) Had a good 3-4hr nap! It is the best thing for excos to do after any camp ends :D

The weather is making me really sleepy although I just climbed out of bed a mere four hours ago. How to complete my essay with this kind of temptation? Haha, I have been staring at the word document for the past two hours. And within these two hours, only ___ words have been added. It's so horrible I don't even dare reveal the number! Haha.

Anyway, Saturday me went Parkway to get some stuff, wanted to get KOI but the queue was freaking longgggggggggggg. And, bella and I will finally be finalizing our TW trip by next week! We-cannot-wait! Finally going to travel with her, and it's not even some choir trip this time! :) Time flies, I've traveled to many places with her because of choir competitions or school exchange prog since Sec 1. Bellaaaaa, 我们老了!!!!!!!!! How I wish I can just sleep for many many months and when I wake up, February will be here.

Holqa outing today! Supposedly, it's a kite-flying + mini bbq outing, but apparently, we didn't have a kite, and there wasn't a mini bbq pit. So in the end, we headed to Jalan Kayu for dinner, then it was back to Compasspoint. The love's still there! ♥

Yesterday was the worst day of the month. I was so tired!

I left lounge, took a breather, went to find Kah Hui and Joey. Wanted to rest in lounge, but couldn't. Wasn't able to focus on resting, haha. Super distracted by everything that was going on in the lounge!

But anyway, it was Joey's birthday yesterday! Happy belated dear girl ♥

Folken bbq was pretty good! :) It was nice seeing them having fun, spotted a few couples okay :P No idea where/how they managed to get laughing gas but yeah they did and they went mad! Went mad laughing! Uncontrollable, non-stop, hysterical kind of laughing. The first round they went on the road to play, they all collapsed on the floor laughing! When someone pointed out there was a van approaching them, they just pointed at the van and continued laughing! Haha, turns out Jacq was in the van, so it wasn't that bad.

Zhijun and I declared that we're getting old. Leaving a gathering at 8+pm to GO HOME!? We were just too tired. Haha, my mum was kinda shocked to see me home by 9:30pm earlier on.

It was a super short trip. And all we did there - eat, travel via bus (rest), place of attraction, eat, travel, eat again. Bought the 24hrs wireless internet service for 15RM, not that bad. And I must say, the night sky was absolutely breathtaking! Starry night, I so loveeeeeeeeeee it! :) Why is it so different from SG's? Aren't we all under the same sky.

But anyway, the trip to Taipei with Bella early next year is kind of confirmed! :) We are so damn excited. It's only June now, but still! We're just looking for two more people to join us. And I still remember us trying to find two guys to travel with us to Taipei, it was hilarious. Laughed till I cried! Our reason being that our parents would feel more at ease knowing there are guy friends with us. We called two random guy friends. They went, "Is this 'just for laughs'?", "Are you two serious?" and so on. But anyway, the slots are still open! Haha, they haven't decided. But no matter what, we're still going to Taipei ♥

I'm definitely super lag. I watched My Sister's Keeper for the first time today, just a few moments ago. Watched it in lounge with Asmine, Ivy, Jiahou and Yufei. I've seen the book (Jodi Picoult), keyword being "seen" and not read. Now that I've watched the film, it makes me wanna grab a copy of the book.

The movie's great, I really enjoyed it! It's not entirely some depressing movie, but it sorta makes you think. About the choices one has to make in different times of their life. As with all choices, there are bound to be consequences. The struggle, pain, helplessness, and of course - courage. Absolutely love the character Anna! Ah, it's a good movie! Had to distract myself from time to time towards the end of the movie by staring elsewhere or they'd find me crying, a h a h a. I have no idea why I didn't catch it when it was in cinema last year :S

Just a quick update, really wanted to pen down some thoughts after watching the movie.

2) Mr Bentwy's wedding was awesomeeee! :) Although we all had to wake up super early just to travel all the way to the other end of Singapore, we felt that it was worth it! Oh and we felt like tourists, somehow. The feeling was just different, cos we were at the other side of SG. Things just seemed and felt different :S But anyway, I loveeeeee the time spent with MS/MB last Sat! Feels great :)

super tired, sleepy, lethargic, weary. It's been a wow experience these two days, the mad rush preparing all the posters, punching holes, getting SAA approval chop, buying of twine till they get sold out, scotch/masking tape madness etc. The list goes on, many things to do during this period of time and I'm glad that some of my friends came down early to help out :) Grateful, thankful. Went back t school today to continue doing all these things. Didn't do any hardcore spamming but let's hope all turns out well!

Have a whole list of people to thank. No matter what the outcome is, will still thank them for their help!

This week is going to be real busy!

Have submitted the form for the upcoming election 2010, screams. Plus the weather these days ain't helping cos it's super duper ultra hot! Election posters going to be up from this Friday onwards! Voting starts on the 18th! Ah, and results out on the 21st - in lounge.

Took me quite a while to really decide to run for tpsu exco. Considered various factors and stuff, and in the end, I decided to go for it. Passion was one of the main factors that beat all the other little things holding me back.

And, BIGGGGGG thanks to Paul for helping us with the shoot. We know you're busy with your design submissions and yet you still helped us. Super touched! :) And we seriously love all the shots you took :D

School has started! And this is week 2 of my second year at TP.

Time flies, I have to agree. Many things to learn and experience, and there's just no time for you to slowly ponder and think about things. The world doesn't stop revolving for you, haha. Sometimes, it's like a "now, or never" thing. Anyway, I have no idea what I'm talking about already so yup.

Haha, no more holidays for now! So say goodbye to being broke :D Today grace told me to sell some of my clothes to get some extra moolah. Shall think about it! Read in some magazine, I think it's Seventeen, that selling off things really get you $ pretty fast. And I've been thinking of selling my Canon Powershot E1 and my LG Viewty Smart. Both are in pretty good condition and should give me a decent amount of moolah. Daddy has been asking me to sell the phone ever since I started using the iPhone! Buttttttttt, at the same time, I can't bear to sell the two gadgets away :( How.

Went for Folken's outing on Saturday to Cine. Instax mini madness! Haha, am waiting till I reach my 100th picture.

HELLO! :)

I am back from TPSU Orientation FOW/C AY10/11 !

It was awesome, very very very very very awesome. Typing out a million "very"s will not even be enough to signify its level of awesome'ness.

Anyway, Folken did great and all the freshies/GLs had fun! :) I'm so proud of them, they're really fantastic and the only regret I had was not spending enough time with folken due to responsibilities. BUT, there's mass FO outing this Saturday and here comes my chance! :)

I want to accomplish these things on that day:

1) Take a picture with every folken freshie

2) Take a picture with every folken GL (especially yr 3s + FAs)

3) Take a picture with the awesome proggers who are part of the Folken family now.

4) Take a picture with you you you you you you and you.

HAHA kind of lame okay, but i really want to take a picture with everyone cos this FO's the bomb (Y) !

Meanwhile, I've been sleeping/eating alot! :) There're always some random folken cheers running through the back of my head everyday, and I'm really missing everyone. Whether or not we're from the same empire or whether you're folken's progger or not, I think you all have played a part in making this FO so successful and memorable for me.

Am going to sleep really soon! Nua'ing session at home tomorrow with the girls. My energy level is so low that even nua'ing at home requires a huge amount of energy for me now!

Alright, I have been neglecting this space.

There are just too many things going on! Tons of pictures to upload/resize/edit, therefore I became too lazy to upload via photobucket and blog. But, am here to post pictures from TP's D&D 2010 and the recent Zoo trip with Bella Ying and Kaho :)

Alright, D&D first! It was last week! :) Last Thursday, at Conrad Centennial Hotel! Theme was Galardeon, basically it's a glamorous night in hues of neon. Had a table with Folken! :)

Everybody was looking good that night! :) I had loads of fun! Basically everybody was taking pictures with anybody and everybody they knew, haha. When me and Zhijun heard people calling for Holqa to go on stage to take a picture, our eyes totally became bigger and we just stared at each other. It was like some magic word! All in all, the night was awesome to the max. Good job to the organising comm! (Y)

On Sunday - the very impromptu Zoo outing with Bella Ying and Kaho! Impromptu, but fun! Thank goodness, no rainfall that day! :D It was really nice seeing the weather forecast for the week being super gloomy and on Sunday, the icon was a Sun. So yay! :) Thanks Ying for organising the outing. Nice catching up with you lovelies ♥

And, time really flies. Freshmen orientation is just less than a week away! At this point of time last year, I was kinda excited yet scared for FOW. And now, I'm no longer a freshie but a GL. Really can't wait to meet the freshies :) FO will be awesome, I can feel it. Entering Holqa last year was the best part of FO for me, and I certainly hope Folken will be a good one too!

am here with pictures of recee'ing at Sentosa and food-tasting :) Both happened last week, on a Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

Met Mich via Bus10 on the Tuesday morning! We were punctual, in fact - we reached there too early :)

We went for breakfast at Macs while waiting for everyone else and haha, everyone else appeared 1.5hours later :p So we went in to Sentosa and stopped by Resort World. It was my first time walking around that area, it's nice. Yeah, it's pretty nice :)

It was fun (but tiring, of course haha), we took a long bus ride back afterwards! We each occupied one whole seat, and just nua'ed all the way back.

Next morning, was another exciting day! Food-tasting! :D Basically we started from Tampines, to ACS, to Yishun then back to Tampines. Long journey, so camwhoring is kind of expected ;)

The transport :) We so love this mini bus, ultra comfy and awesome!

When we stepped into the first applicant's house, our jaws droppedddddd. Literally.

We couldn't wait to start tasting the food haha, it was like a feast to us as most of us were hungry!

Alright, this is overdue part 2.

Occurred this week i think, if i didn't remember wrongly? On Monday.

Went Queenstown again for IKEA and our identity item.

IKEA is never being rejected by us, the smell of the store, the food - 'nuff said. Just the two reasons stated are sufficient to attract us to the store, bet we can go there everyday and not get super sick of the place.

She satisfied her meatballs craving again as she could smell/taste everything better then. We had fun around the store after lunch, WOW'ing and OMG'ing all the way as we pass by the different showrooms etc. Dreaming about our bedroom being absolutely cosy and inviting and warm and perhaps even princess'y to just a certain extent. It was a nice trip to Ikea, we were crazy, wacky, whatever haha! It didn't matter to us cos nobody knows us and nobody will anyway hahaha.

K sidetrack just for a moment. I think I'm back to typing wordy posts in a way suddenly. I used to just "Ok yesterday I went blah-place and had fun! Pictures below!", then I will post the pictures in chronological order and end with "Ciao/Love/Bye/Nights/Gotta go!". Not really detailed for a blogpost but to me (then), I just wanted to post the pictures and let the pictures do the talking. Don't know why, I'm like typing and typing and typing now.

Ok I've decided to upload some pictures here cos if I don't, the next time I sit down and actually blog properly, I'd most probably have 103953948 pictures to upload.

Here are pictures from last week, before Folken chalet :) I went queenstown, Chinatown, kembangan and tampines. Hunting for orientation identity, ordering of bbq food, chuinch's 18th dinner, etc.

Have to really thank Zhijun for travelling to all those places with me! :)

Had lunch at Ikea before heading to get our identity item, we were absolutely starving.

Headed down to Chinatown after we're done shopping for stuff at queensway. Met Huiyi to continue our hunting trip :)

We walked around for a pretty long time, finally found what we wanted! The weather was extremely hot that day and we were just super thirsty, tired and just so cui haha.

I then rushed down for Chuinch's birthday dinner! Was supposed to be there at 7pm! In the end I reached Safra at around, 8pm. Travelling from Chinatown to Tampines Safra took me almost 1.5hours!

It felt good meeting up with them! Everyone's super busy now and I swear its a bad time to have any meetups/gatherings. Miss MS like mad okay, MAD!

Exactly one week ago, I was super excited for Folken's chalet. I remember myself packing and settling all the last minute stuff, haha. I was contemplating whether to bring my D3000 or my powershot E1 and all, haha. (in the end, i brought my powershot!) I was thinking through the list of things to bring and things that I had to do/remember. It was fun, in a way! :)

And now, I'm down with a rather bad case of flu and a sore throat. Not enough rest ever since I started running around places. I haven't had more than 7 hours of sleep in a long long time! Nose blocked, irritated throat, yay im SO going to have a good night's sleep tonight hahaha. But anyway, am going to stop whining about my body condition :) Thank goodness there are rainfalls these few days! The grass everywhere is seriously just so BROWN and DRY. Stepping on them was like stepping on crisp wild grass. To a certain extent, it was even painful to step on them. I want the green grass to come back :(

I had a fun week, so far! :) It was back to Queenstown to collect the identity items on Monday, Sentosa on Tuesday, Tampines/Barker/Yishun yesterday, and lastly town today. Tiring yes, but I enjoyed the past few days.

Back from chalet, it was fun and awesome! :)

Been trying to sleep for as much as I can and have been eating lots of fruits these days. Dont want to fall sick! Was like a zombie that day when I returned from chalet, was just walking around the house like a person without soul.

Less than 4 hours of sleep in 3 days! Went to bed, and instant K.O.!

Been crazily busy these few days ever since exams ended. Lotsa things to settle and attend to, have barely enough time for me to sit down and chiong dramas, for instance. Can't blame no one for this of course, I keep telling myself that it's only for these few weeks and things will get better.

Haven't even been to see granny ever since CNY! Haha, humans are funny creatures. We always complain and whine when the day seems neverending with endless amount of tiring chores to do and all we want is bedtime to come, but on the other hand, we'll sometimes pray and wish so hard for a few more hours in a day so that we can complete more tasks. Go figure.

Anyway, am here to post pictures taken at Joey's place! Very late in posting the pictures, so sorry dear girls! :)

When I was resizing them just now, I didn't realise it earlier on but we seriously took quite a lot of pictures! Was going mad resizing them, haha but they're all done now!

Hellllo!

HAPPY CNY, again :)

This year it feeeeeeels like CNY is over in just four days. And it's back to studying/revising! I'm superbly good at procrastinating, it's not a good thing I know but let that be a resolution for 2010 k? To decrease level of procrastination.

Exams next week! Not feeling nervous/anxious yet, no idea why. Wondering if it's a good or bad thing too!

Anyway, am here to post some pictures from CNY! Very happy with this year's CNY :) Although having exams a week after CNY = totally nothing worth celebrating and being happy about but, I have to say that it's been a good one so far. Preston is trying to walk already, but he can't yet so he totally walks like a drunkard now. No sense of direction or control over his balance etc!

Headed to Expo today, sister wanted to check out the Robinsons expo sale. The snacks were the love man, we ended up with one whole big bag of snacks, along with some other stuff. Snacks for me to keep myself occupied while studying, haha. All of them are on my table now. And speaking of my table, it's a mess again! A week ago, my mum helped me tidy it, I was shocked at how neat it was. But now, hahaha, I can't say the same for it anymore.

This week is going to be super busy, lotsa project meetings and time to rush everything for submission/presentation. Boohoo!

Ok, this blog is not dead. Am here to post some pics!

Anyway, HSS had our inter-class captain's ball match and yay 1B02 is seriously the bomb! Am so proud of the players :D We didn't lose a single match at all, how awesome. Pictures all up on Facebook, so me shall not post them up here.

I still think I'm deprived of proper sleep. I was so tired today, when Dr Kev showed us the video on AIDS/HIV/SIV, I nearly dozed off. Then after the lecture I told myself that I shall sleep early tonight, but apparently I failed as here I am, typing this sentence.

There's just so much to do, yet so little time! I just can't seem to get myself to start on certain things. Oh no :(

Kind of busy! But things are better now already. Open house 2010 is over!

Day 1

Super cool shop!!

Right, so we experienced an earthquake! Haha, 7 on a Richter scale. It was a scary experience, yet thinking back - it was kinda cool? It's something that we'll never really experience here in SG. We were walking along some shops, then the ground started shaking. Everything was moving, up down left right, things were falling, people shouting. Everything happened in a mere 4 seconds, but yet it seemed as long as 1 minute.

And when we went back to our hotel, we realised the beds moved cos of the quake. Yes, moved away from the bedframe haha.

Phew.

Day 2

Slept well! Although we were kinda scared that there'd be another quake, haha.

Had ice-cream!!! It was nice, but I couldn't finish like more than half of it. Seriously freeeeezing after awhile!

The next best thing besides tealeafeggs ;)

Our resort was seriously fantastic!! We started snapping away immediately when we opened the door.

Very veryyyyyyyyyy windy. People as skinny as Nisa are strongly advised NOT to come to this place. I think she'd get carried away by the wind seriously.

Then we went to Eluanbi Lighthouse, the only armed lighthouse in TW.

Bullet train ride!

Proceeded to the Tainan Leisure Farm! Where we stayed in "European wooden floating house" (cited from ChanBros). It was freeeeeeeeeeezing in the room. My sis and I closed all windows, and did not turn on the aircon - we were still super cold.

Anyway, played with fireworks/sparklers!

It was fun!! Too bad we're not allowed to play all these in SG.

Day 4

Woke up alittle earlier to explore the whole leisure farm :)

Fun stuff + pretty flowers = awesome morning at the farm!

Went to some nature reserve park.

So cute :P

We went to Sun Moon Lake next and the Wenwu Temple.

Tour guide said we were lucky as the sky was clear, weather was good etc.

Omg my all-time favourite!!!!!

On the way back to the hotel, around the Sun Moon Lake area.

Cosy! Plus, the bed is super duper comfortable ♥

Day 5

Had a superb sleep, the bed was really comfortable. My sister and I were totally reluctant to wake up! Went for a walk after breakfast :)

Headed to Formosa Aboriginal Cultural Village! This place is like a place to discover the cultural heritage of Taiwan's hill-tribes, as well as a theme park.

Dinner was at the Five Cent Driftwood Restaurant. Very very cool place, the interior walls, furniture and stairs are made from unfinished driftwood, rocks and seashells.

Day 6

Went to ChiuFen (九份) in the morning.

Taiwan mochi (Y)

These are flutes! Very pretty isn't it. He even gives you a book with scores for you to play on the flute if you purchase one.

After that, we went to Beancurd (Tofu) Street (direct translation from 豆腐街 k!)

Everyone was selling beancurd!! SMELLY BEANCURD especially!

It got kinda intolerable when we walked towards the end of the street. I didn't eat any of those this time, I don't know why but my love for smelly beancurd was gone!! Haha, I remember eating them 3 years ago and I found them super yummy. They don't really appeal to me now I guess :S

Taipei 101 next! :D It has got to be my sister's favourite mall.

Went in with nothing, came out with something.

Headed back to the hotel to place our buys, then proceeded to Shilin Night Market! This night market is the loveeeeeeeeee!! :D

This is seriously one of the best food items to consume in a cold country (Y)

Not many pictures of the night market, hands were busy carrying bags and was enjoying the shopping to the max!

Day 7 -- Last day!

The last day was pretty boring in a way cos there just wasn't much.

Went to visit this FengShui master and had him evaluate some personal stuff. Had to provide details like our names, birthdate and so on. Super accurate, super cool!! We were all amazed.

Had lunch at this cultural village at Wu Lai (乌来), followed by a performance. And there was a waterfall :)

Had to leave for the airport after that, and it was basically home sweet home.

Enjoyed this trip alot! But the next time I visit Taiwan, it'd be free-and-easy already. I think I've been to enough sites of attraction after going on a guided tour this time, and also 3 years ago.

Am done resizing all the TW pics, yay!

The problem is, there are too many pictures! I can't possibly post them all up here or this page will seriously lag like mad!! Think I'll blog about the trip together with the pics tomorrow or some day this week. Don't want to procrastinate and end up not blogging about it at all (just like the Vienna trip, opps!) I miss the food and weather there :(

To celebrate the Eiffel Tower's 120th Anniversary, Longchamp released a couple of limited edition items. For instance, the Eiffel Tower Le Pliage tote! :D Thanks Dad, awesome Xmas gift. Released in two colours - graphite and paper. Dad chose the tote in paper :)

And,

Love the white one!! It's cheaper in Taipei, so I went ahead to get 4 boxes of film at one go, together with the camera. I think I should have gotten a few more boxes, I feel so cheated to purchase the film in SG now!!! :( The next time I go to TW, I'll get at least 10 boxes seriously.

Anyway, school has started! Yucks I know but no choice! At least there's e-learning, so I get to stay at home on certain days. Projects are going to flood my remaining days of 2009 and the beginning of 2010. But it's alright, I'll be looking forward to the long break starting at the end of Feb.

It's scary how fast time flies. I can vividly remember FOW and Week 0! It still feels like I have just entered this new environment and guess what, it's been 8 months already. Time didn't seem to pass this fast when I was facing O's last year. Scary, haha.

Am still in the midst of resizing the pictures from TW, it's taking me forever! But the pictures will come, asap. Really miss the weather! And the snacks, the hospitality, the friendly people, etc. Can't believe the term break is coming to an end :( Time flies, too fast. If only time would stop, I really love TW! Taipei especially. Wouldn't mind if I have to be stuck there somehow.

Tons of images to be uploaded!! This trip has been pretty awesome, very relaxing and the weather was superb. Our tour guide was good, driver was good, etc - you get the idea, it was a good trip. Got an awesome experience - Earthquake, in HuaLien. Blog more about it when the Taiwan blog posts are up.

Suprisingly, me didn't buy much apparels. Partly because of the season and also because I seem to spend more time trying to think of what to get for friends so that they get a little something at least. I can't seem to avoid this scenario each time I go overseas. But it's alright, season of giving ♥

Speaking of that, Merry (Belated) Christmas to you all lovely and good kids out there! ;D My first Christmas overseas! Lotsa Christmas decorations everywhere in Taiwan, but they don't really celebrate it. It's not even a public holiday, people still go to work (according to the tour guide). Kind of strange aye!

Me is going to sleep now! Very happy with some of my purchases! :) Will upload images and blog ASAP!!!

Back from OTC!

Just a short and quick update before I finish packing for TW etc.

OTC was superbly awesome, am in FOLKEN with Shawn and Ella as FAs.

Folken was full of fabulous people, we're just si bei ho!!!

Night-walk was no doubt interesting but freeeeeeaky to the max. I had no idea how I managed to gather that certain level of courage especially since I'm the super scaredy cat kind when it comes to things like nightwalks/horror movies etc.

All the cheers were so cute and performance night was wooohoooo fantastic!

Just came back from visiting Granny at the hospital. Won't be able to visit her for 3 days as I'll be at camp.

Speaking of the camp, I haven't really packed for OTC, shall start really really soon. 3 days later, I wonder how I'll be like. Definitely hoping that I will not lose my voice or get a very bad case of sore throat, and also - not terribly sunburnt. Wont wanna go to TW with a bad throat, that's for sure :(

Was out with Debra today! Like a proper day out finally.

Had steamboat for lunch so that we could just sit down and chat for a long time, while eating.

Lunch lasted for around 3 hours, and we definitely had (more than) our fill. We walked at such an amazing slow speed, we took quite a long while to walk over to Raffles City.

We were kinda complaining about the heat, haha. We definitely made things worse ourselves by walking at absolute snail speed. So, we decided to have dessert.

Left Raffles City after awhile, Deb couldn't take the air-con. She's so going to freeze in Korea in 2 weeks' time.

Definitely had fun today! Was laughing so much when we were talking about various Facebook groups. Like for instance, "Remember when you had to blow the Nintendo catridge when it messed up", or something like that. It's hilarious, I don't know how it helps by blowing the catridge and the gameboy itself but back then, it was like THE thing we all had to do when something was wrong with the catridge. All these facebook groups seriously make people go "Omg, that is absolutely true!". Some are pretty funny, and thanks to them, we had a great laugh today.

Don't know when's the next time we're going to meet cos she's going Korea while I'll be in TW. Love you! ♥

Speaking of this, I won't be seeing MS till next year. Next year sounds so irritatingly far away, yet I know it's only a few weeks away. MS MS MS, sigh.

the "new" old.

Recently, I took out my old phone, the very cui-looking one.

Ever since I changed phone a few months ago to a full touch-screen one, I totally miss typing on a keypad. And so I've decided to use the V9 for awhile, leaving the LG viewty smart alone.

It certainly feels superb to be using the V9 again, especially when it comes to texting.

And, I gave the V9 a makeover.

From the super-cui-looking phone to this:

It certainly covers the black spots that it has. There are black spots cos the coat of paint came off at random areas, due to the impacts it received when I dropped the phone. Countless number of times, seriously.

Anyway, am meeting the lovely one tomorrow! :) Can't wait! We've got so much chatting to do.

Ok today's paper was definitely not as nice as yesterday's.

Tomorrow's paper will be worse than today's. (Uh oh, it's going to get worse by the day!)

And I am totally dreading Thursday's paper.

Anyway, just 5 pictures for today's post! Went up to a certain storey an hour ago, and captured whatever I saw. Not exactly what I wanted to capture initially but another day perhaps. Should just go to the top storey the next time!

At least the breeze was superb!

Back from today's paper! Principles of Statistics.

Math-based module, thought I was going to die when I found out that it was all about probability, standard deviation, variance, binomial & poisson, blah blah blah at the start of the semester. Haha, always thought I could escape Math forever since I'm in HSS. I just couldn't think of any link between humanities & social sciences and Math.

But oh well, the main point is that - I could do the paper today! *inserts one trillion smiley faces* Messaged Deb love immediately, was so happy!

(K, some background information: I can't really do Math and it's proven in all my secondary school Math papers! Am definitely more of a language-humanities person. Math has never been my interest, maybe that explains the results. I just don't see myself using things like area under curve, trigonometry, differentiation/integration etc in my daily life years later, heh.)

Anyway, there's the finale of Amazing Race later! I am so excited! Kinda hoping that Meghan and Cheyne would win the race :S
